Chez Meme Baguette Bistro

New restaurant. Fresh ingredients. Maui baguettes. Tres bien!

After a beach location scout this morning with photographer Peter Liu, we needed to download our findings and find a spot to do that. Remembering amauiblog‘s post about a new breakfast restaurant in Kihei, I brought up her blog on my iPhone and found Chez Meme Baguette Bistro’s address and website.

The quaint building is ideally located away from the hub of Maui transient traffic and amid light industrial businesses. There is plenty of parking on spot, garden-like landscaping, and comfortable chairs for lingering over the $.95 coffee or iced tea. I especially like the large open windows throughout the room that allow for Maui trades to cool the space.

Chorizo omeleteI opted for the chorizo omelet made with free range eggs and served with slices of Maui-made crusty baguettes and pan fried potatoes. A mason jar of homemade organic mango ginger jam brought to the table reminded me to add this recipe to my “Mango Madness” Pinterest board so I’ll have it at hand when my five mango trees start fruiting.

Chez Meme Baguette Bistro is serving a Valentine’s weekend special brunch on February 16 and 17. If you choose to celebrate during daylight, two poached eggs with hollandaise sauce, a large wild salmon fillet, the tasty pan fried potatoes and sliced baguettes is $14.95.
